Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen Council #7612

Sheen's Colleens

Congratulations, fellow Knights' of Columbus family and welcome to Fulton J. Sheen Council #7612 of the Knights' of Columbus community.

As the wife of a Knight, you are eligible to become a member of the Sheen's Colleens. We are the ladies auxilliary of the council. We support and assist the Fulton J. Sheen council in their religious and community activities. We would like to extend a very warm and heartfelt welcome to you.

As you may or may not know, the Sheen's Colleens are a spiritually and socially active organization. We are involved in charity fund raisers, church and community based activities, youth initiatives and many other activities where there is a need and we can make a difference. We enjoy a wonderfully cohesive membership. New members are vital to the success of any organization and we would love to have you on our team.

Your level of involvement is completely an individual matter. Whether you have time to chair a committee or assist a committee, we truly appreciate your participation. The Colleens have a planning meeting once a month on the third Wednesday at 7:00pm in the Cassidy Center at St. Joseph's Catholic Community. Our membership fee is $10.00 annually and is due by December 1st.

If you are a new member of the Knights of Columbus family or are returning / transferring to Council #7612, we would like you to seriously consider our invitation to join the team.

Sheen's Colleens Corner

Hello ladies,

As we look back on last month and last year as a whole, I believe that we are a very blessed group of women. We were able, with the help of God’s grace, to accomplish all of our goals. We helped out in our community where we saw a need. We aided the Knights whenever they requested our assistance. We came together and shared our thoughts, ideas, and hopes. Our Christmas get together was very well attended and a great time was had by all. My thanks to Heather Greul for coordinating the evening. I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and that the New Year holds only the best for each and every one of you.

We have some dates of importance in the upcoming months ahead. The Colleen’s are collecting money for the annual Valentine Flower Project on the weekend of the 14th and 15th of January after all masses. If you are available to help, please contact Charlene Heyden at 410 549-7772 or cheyden2@verizon.net.

The Valentine Flower project is also set to take place the 11th of February. I am sure Charlene will need as many hands on deck as possible for this worthy effort. Please contact Charlene at the number listed above if you can help in any way. There are many ways to assist!

We are also collecting items for the Welcome Home Project (bottled water, individual sized snack bags of chip/cookies) after mass on the weekend of the 28th and 29th please contact Heather Gruel at 410 795-5931 or at hgreul3@gmail.com or Jeanne O’Sullivan for additional information. Our January meeting is scheduled for the 18th at 7:00 pm. I hope to see you all there!

See you then.

Barbara Rooney, President (410)549-0148
